Individual therapy

This could be traditional talk therapy, equine assisted therapy, or a combination of both. You will work with your therapist to determine what the most effective treatment modality will be. Individual sessions are typically an hour and frequency will be determined between you and your therapist based on your needs.
 

Group Therapy

This could be in a traditional group setting or include the use of horses depending on the group topic, participants, and needs of the group. Group sessions are an hour long and typically run once a week for 8-12 weeks depending on the group. Please contact us directly to find out more information about available groups..
 

Equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP)

This is a therapy provided by a licensed therapist with the assistance of horses. EAP addresses many mental health concerns including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, domestic violence, trauma-related symptoms, PTSD, substance abuse and attachment issues. People who do not feel comfortable in a traditional office setting may find EAP especially beneficial. No prior horse experience is required to be eligible for this service.

Equine-assisted activities and Workshops

Changing Reins offers 1 and 2 day workshops for any group of people looking to work on team building. Working with horses provides a unique opportunity to build effective communication skills in a relaxed atmosphere. This service is appropriate for schools, business professionals, and community programs looking to build better group cohesion. Workshops will be tailored to fit the needs of the group. Impaired Driver Assessments

If you are charged with or convicted of an impaired driving offense and require a substance abuse assessment for court, DMV, and/or the IDS system, you can receive one at our practice. There is a one-time fee associated with this assessment which may take up to two sessions. Please contact us for more information about pricing and requirements.
